From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Neighbourhood Team

PS Stuart Gilmour leads the Winchester Greater Neighbourhood Team based at Bishops Waltham.



PCSO Barry Towler (Wickham and Knowle) and PCSO Grace Wetherill (Whiteley) have designated responsibility for the Wickham and Whiteley neighbourhood which also includes Knowle Village.



The neighbourhood team provides high visibility policing to tackle low level crime and disorder and anti-social behaviour.



Wickham hosts an annual Horse Fair on 20th May each year and held under a Royal Charter. Horses are "run" along the B2177 before being sold at auction during the day with a funfair and stalls set up in The Square until late.
