Brixington has a population of approximately 4,977. It is a busy neighbourhood with its focus concentrated around the ‘parade’ area where there is a number of stores and a public house. the area has a community centre and a large primary school. The population is very varied. It continues to expand with new developments being built privately and by social housing in a number of locations. Younger families occupy many of the new houses with older communities being more focused in the established areas of the neighbourhood

Brixington is a safe place to live with the likelihood of being a victim of crime being well below the national average. In addition the incidents of serious crime are very low indeed. The main problems are spontaneous incidents of vandalism committed by those passing through the area and anti social behaviour.
