In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (PD&W), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other. In order to avoid confusion, UKCrimeStats has renamed the original "Other" category as "Other Total" which is the sum of these 6 and this is what is displayed from December 2010 to August 2011

The Lipson and Laira areas of Plymouth consist mainly of urban residential areas including a mix of privately owned, privately rented, council and housing association properties.
The population is diverse consisting of young families, employed couples and retired people. Much of the community activity is centred around Lipson Community College which currently has approximately 1,300 students, many from the local area.

The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with the students at the college to promote a sense of pride and value in the community.
Lipson and Laira have relatively few crime related problems. Issues highlighted at local Have Your Say Meetings have included low-level antisocial behaviour amongst teenagers and traffic-related issues.
We will continue to work with partner agencies and develop strategies to improve the quality of life for all residents in the Lipson and Laira neighbourhood.

Crime is not fought by buildings, but by ... Continue reading
