In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (PD&W), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other. In order to avoid confusion, UKCrimeStats has renamed the original "Other" category as "Other Total" which is the sum of these 6 and this is what is displayed from December 2010 to August 2011

The Economic Policy Centre www.economicpolicycentre.com has made every effort in order to ensure that the data for UkCrimeStats is accurate and up to date. However, we are aware of certain deficiencies in this data which are beyond our control. That's because as a 3rd party developer, we do not collect the data, the Police do who then hand it over to another data company to release to 3rd party developers such as ourselves. We only download and analyse it so that you can use it. For full detail of these deficiencies, please read here.

Beeston West has two main areas, both retail and residential, and is approximately one square mile in size. Chilwell Road is the main road through Beeston West, with a variety of small businesses on both sides of the road, for approximately quarter of a mile. The main roads bordering Beeston West are Queens Road, Dovecote Lane, Wollaton Road and Bramcote Drive.

There is a large residential area varying in age and style where the residents are active members of the Neighbourhood Watch. Beeston Town Centre is within a very short walking distance and it is approximately a little over one mile to Nottingham University. Beeston West is located next to Chilwell East and has Castle College close by. It offers good bus routes to various local areas, such as Chilwell, Bramcote, Stapleford, Long Eaton and Nottingham. The tram is also expected to run through Beeston West in the next couple of years (subject to planning).

Beeston West is where you will find Beeston Police Station. This is an operational response base working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Front Counter is open everyday 8am till 8pm except bank holidays, for help and advice and to report incidents.

They do not lumber down the street in pursuit of criminals. They do not observe crime, and according to most criminologists there is no real evidence that they even deter crime – not just by sitting there as an inanimate structure of bricks and mortar. Crime is not fought by buildings, but by ...  Continue reading
