There are two local education authority schools in the area they are called the Rufford Junior and Infant school which is situated on Hoewood Road and Snapewood Junior school on Aspen Road.
The area has 3 places of worship which are St John The Devine church, which is situated off Keys Close. The Vicarage and Community Centre linked with the church are located on Snapewood Road. There is a methodist church on Ravensworth Road and the Bulwell Christian Fellowship is on Strelley Street.
