Gibbonsdown is situated towards the northeast border of Barry. It is approx 2 miles from the town centre and is close to the main commuter road to Cardiff.Gibbonsdown is almost exclusively residential with very few shops or pubs. The area benefits from a leisure centre, three primary schools, one of which is a Welsh primary school and a Comprehensive School.
