This neighbourhood has been created as a result of recent boundary changes within the force.

Peverell has a population of 12,788, who reside in 5,556 households, with the average household size being 2.32 people. 81 per cent of housing is owner-occupied and 17 per cent of housing is rented. Peverell has as thriving shopping area used by local residents and the well-attended local primary school has a good reputation.

The Peverell and Hartley neighbourhood team, based at Devonport Police Station, consists Police Community Support Officer Mark Sowden and Neighbourhood Beat Manager PC Kieran Griffiths. Peverell is a generally a safe place to live with the likelihood of being a victim of crime falling below the national average.

The predominant problem is antisocial behaviour caused by young people, linked to nearby Central Park and other smaller parks in the area, which can be attributed to alcohol and underage drinking. In the last two years we have seen a drop in anti-social behaviour in and around the park. We conduct foot patrols through Central Park on a regular basis.

We work closely with partner agencies to promote local youth nights where young persons can attend and remain safe.

The recent arrival of the Life Centre means that we now work closely with the management team at the Life Centre and often patrol in and around the Life Centre area.  Often we will get involved with the youths on the Friday night youth club held at the Life Centre..

Parking of vehicles is also a particular issue for residents, especially when local football team Plymouth Argyle play home matches at their ground which is situated within Central Park.
