From May 2013, the following changes were made to the crime categories:
I) The violent crime category was renamed "violence and sexual offences"
2) A new category for "bicycle theft" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
3) A new category for "theft from the person" was created which previously fell within "other theft"
4) Public disorder and weapons were then split into two new categories; "public order" and "possession of weapons"
5) Both "other firearms offences" and "other knives offences" which were in "other crime" were moved into "possession of weapons".

Penzance West encompasses a mix of both Commercial areas, including shops, public houses and restaurants and residential areas incorporating schools, hotels and guest houses. The area stretches from CausewayHead and Queen Street, westwards to Alverton and Larrigan Hill.

Devon and Cornwall Police and Cornwall Council and partner agencies are actively involved in tackling anti social behaviour and it is a priority for all of our staff. Reporting incidents of anti social behaviour may prevent problems happening and will help to make your neighbourhood a safer place.

Anti social behaviour includes a wide range of unacceptable activities such as vandalism,graffiti,speeding,littering,dog fouling,nuisance neighbours and intimidating groups taking over public places in our communities.
