Reported crime is down, detections are up and a growing number of people are satisfied that the police are dealing effectively with anti social behaviour.

Lynton police station covers the parishes of Lynton, Lynmouth, Countisbury, Brendon, Barbrook, Parracombe, Challacombe, Trentishoe, Martinhoe, Kentisbury and Arlington.

The area consists of approx 18 miles of coast line along the Bristol Channel and the section borders with Avon and Somerset police. The whole section covers approx 350 sq miles.

Most of the area comes within the boundries of the Exmoor National Park renowned for its rolling moorland and wooded valleys. The picturesque towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are known as "Little Switzerland", where Exmoor meets the sea.

The area has a static population of approx 3000 people, which swells during the summer season.
