As a deterrent to future flash-mob riots, it doesn&#8217;t get much better than this. \u00a0 A friend of mine who is a magistrate tells me there is a huge team of people in the Police &#8211; about 500 &#8211; \u00a0sifting through photos and video.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.google.com\/hostednews\/ukpress\/article\/ALeqM5hqnPyZEyjmolbogBSm0DD4v_yg1A?docId=B36127871314104645A00\">According to this press association article from yesterday<\/a>;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<address>The Met released the latest riots crime figures today, showing there has been a total of 1,920 arrests (1,508 adults and 412 juveniles).\u00a0So far 1,098 people have been charged (864 adults, 234 juveniles).<\/address>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another source, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2011_England_riots\">this wiki<\/a> has a pretty good roundup and cites 3,100 arrests nationwide as at August 15th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s something else here &#8211; an indirect benefit from something so awful.
