In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (PD&W), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other. In order to avoid confusion, UKCrimeStats has renamed the original "Other" category as "Other Total" which is the sum of these 6 and this is what is displayed from December 2010 to August 2011

GENERAL NEIGHBOURHOOD INFORMATION:
Hartsholme Neighbourhood Policing Team provides local policing services to the Hartsholme Ward area. Hartsholme Ward covers a population of 8,890 persons (based on figures from the 2001 census) accommodated in 3,792 households within the area.
Only 2% of the population were identified as living in communal properties, the rest were living in households of some type.
The figures show that the neighbourhood has a housing mix of 1,479 semi-detached properties, 1,321 detached properties, 771 terraced properties, 315 flats or apartments and 299 purpose built flats.
Located in the centre of the Ward is Hartsholme Country Park. This is popular with dog walkers and families alike and creates a continuous flow of visitors throughout the year. Hartsholme Country Park also houses a campsite that is open from April – October. This can increase the population during the summer months.
Examination of age ranges identifies that the ward has a breakdown consistent with Lincoln and with the nation. The only area that it differs in any statistically significant way is in the over 75 age group. 8.6% of the ward is in this age bracket, which is higher than Lincoln and higher than England and Wales. The 30-59 age group is the largest represented with 41.3% of the wards residents.
The level of employment in the area is consistent with the wider region, though in the specific areas of the Hartsholme housing estate there is greater incidence of unemployment.

They do not observe crime, and according to most criminologists there is no real evidence that they even deter crime – not just by sitting there as an inanimate structure of bricks and mortar. Crime is not fought by buildings, but by ... Continue reading
