In September 2011, Other Crime was divided into 6 categories - Drugs, Public Disorder & Weapons (PD&W), Criminal Damage & Arson (CD&A), Theft - Shoplifting, Theft-Other and Other. In order to avoid confusion, UKCrimeStats has renamed the original "Other" category as "Other Total" which is the sum of these 6 and this is what is displayed from December 2010 to August 2011

However, we are aware of certain deficiencies in this data which are beyond our control. That's because as a 3rd party developer, we do not collect the data, the Police do who then hand it over to another data company to release to 3rd party developers such as ourselves. Newcastle North covers the areas of Bradwell, Porthill, Wolstanton and Maybank, all small villages situated to the north of Newcastle-under-Lyme. Bradwell boasts a small shopping area and several churches and local officers are based within the Bradwell area at the community centre and this centre plays hosts to over 1,000 local people per week for various activities.

Wolstanton and Porthill are former mining communities but now there is an industrial park with several nationwide stores. Across the area there is now a different thriving business community with many local schools and a number of different churches of varying denominations.

There is good transport network surrounded by major link roads to local towns and also the M6 motorway.
