Police Stations

This page shows all the known locations of Police Stations in England and Wales, as defined in the Police.uk API (which are incomplete).

N.B. - Dec 30th 2011: this is a work in progress as there is very incomplete police station data for approximately 950 of 1,500 Police Stations in England & Wales. In fact, the Police.UK API data shows 5 police forces have not declared ANY police station data, and of the 38 police forces that did there is a clear range of data quality provided. Please check on our UKCrimeStats Forum page for progress and the post entitled The dangers of not providing data for background. Therefore you may see differences in the totals displayed in this summary and on the actual police profile. Again, this is done to highlight the inconsistencies within the Police.uk API data.

They do not observe crime, and according to most criminologists there is no real evidence that they even deter crime – not just by sitting there as an inanimate structure of bricks and mortar.
