The Mease Valley covers around 70 square miles of Hardy-esque countryside stretching from the outskirts of Lichfield as far as Thorpe Constantine, which is close to the boundaries of not two but four counties boundary.

It includes more than a dozen villages and hamlets. There are many country walks in the area and a host welcoming country pubs catering for locals and visitors.

The area is home to Whittington Barracks - the Staffordshire Regiment museum, situated on the A51 between Lichfield and Tamworth, and the commercial fisheries at Thorpe Constantine and the Midlands' premier fly fishery at Fisherwick.

Another attraction in the area is the Garlands Shooting Ground at Edingale, which caters for most types of clay pigeon shooting.
