South Molton town area has a population of approximately 5,000. It is mainly urban, but borders a wide expanse of open space and a number of rural villages. It continues to expand with new developments being built in number of locations. Young families occupy many of the new houses with older communities being more focused in the established areas of the neighbourhood. All of the South Molton area has it's fair share of regular Police patrols albeit policing is focused in the town due to the concentration of shops and licensed premises. Pathfields Business Park along with other commercial sites are regularly visited and we, as Neighbourhood officers have an oustanding relationship with our business community. .

South Molton is a safe place to live, visit and work. The likelihood of being a victim of crime remains well below the national average. Similarly, incidents of serious crime are very low indeed. The main problems are perceived anti-social behaviour and traffic related matters that are being addressed as an ongoing concern and passed to our partners to deal where appropriate.

We are committed to working with our partners to ensure that the South Molton area is a pleasant and safe place to live and work.
